Sponsor of 5 Children for 5 years

Ton Memorial School Sailung happy with contribution from Rotary Sassenheim

Sassenheim / Nepal – Rotary Club Sassenheim, known for community initiatives, has become the proud sponsor of five children from the remote village of Sailung, Nepal, for a period of five years.

Hidden between the rugged and breathtaking Himalayan mountains, Sailung is located far away from Sassenheim. In this remote village, daily life is marked by the challenges that the residents, especially the children, face. They often have to endure an arduous journey to gain access to education and basic services.

Intrigued by the school's mission and deeply moved by the stories of the Sailung children, the Rotary Club Sassenheim knew it had found a cause worthy of their support. Classroom conditions were far from ideal, and many of their families were in poverty.

Good education cannot be taken for granted
Rotary Club Sassenheim has previously contributed to the construction of the school. The school is now up and running and many children from the area now have access to good education. Yet not all parents can obtain the financial resources. That is why RC Sassenheim has taken the step to sponsor five children from Sailung for five years. This sponsorship covers all school costs such as school fees, books, uniforms, etc. This means that the school indirectly has a lot of positive impact on the community.

Cooperation
The collaboration between the Rotary Club Sassenheim and the Sailung School means more than just financial help; it represents a bridge between two worlds. It demonstrates the belief that education is the key to ending poverty and enabling future generations to reach their full potential. The impact of this sponsorship will be felt not only by the five children, but also by the entire Sailung community.
